Out of Hours Care and Emergency Treatment
In these unprecedented times we are likely to face some very significant staffing challenges. Though we are incredibly proud of the 24hr service we have provided, we have decided to ask Vets Now to provide our OOH cover for a 3 month period.
The UK Government have been very clear that people should only go to work if it is absolutely necessary and given the proximity of Vets Now Clinics to our Branches, having Nurses and Vets working at our practice overnight seems increasingly hard to justify at the moment. To try and staff a 24hr service as available staff numbers likely diminish would only put them all under more pressure and inevitable fatigue. In the current climate, in all good conscience we don’t think we have any other alternative though we are not blind to the fact that our colleagues in the NHS will be going above and beyond in this period and we salute them for all they will be doing over the coming weeks to preserve human life.
Tonight our duty vet and night nurse will be available; tomorrow we will switch our phones to Vets Now at 13:00 until Monday morning 08:30. We are well aware that this is a swift change and in addition to informing our clients on social media and via our website, we are texting all clients we have seen in the last 2 years for whom we have a mobile number.
We will do all we can to keep both surgeries open for daytime emergencies through Covid-19 between the hours of
08:30 – 19:00 Mon – Thurs
08:30 – 18:00 Friday
08:30 – 13:00 Saturday.
Outside of these times please contact either:
